Does anyone have a suggestion who makes a rear sway bar for the RWD
1982 Olds cutlass cruiser wgn. It seems because it is a wagon, that
they may not make one because of the gas tank location in the wagon???

I have two cars- Yukon and Mitsubishi.  The Mitsu began blowing cold
at low rpms.  No heat until the rpms pick up.  Within two weeks, my
Yukon is doing the same thing.  Both are running hotter than usual,
esp. the Yukon.  Both cars problem free for years.  All of the
sudden…  Conspiracy?  WTF!

I believe it’s about time to throw down the gauntlet.  I’d say extend the
olive branch but I never liked the connotation of that.  So, I’ll cast it
down with the "challenge" (a gauntlet needs a challenge) that we move on
past the thread from hell.

FTR – I’ve nothing against professional mechanics.  I’m not one but that’s
for reasons other than some distaste for them.  I interact with them almost
daily and we share lots of information.  I freely seek and take advice from
them on things I’ve not encountered before, and likewise, I’ve been able to
offer advice on things I’ve done that they had not encountered.  It’s not so
unlike a forum like this where people share information and everyone
benefits in some way.

I’ve no doubt that you are a capable and qualified mechanic and that you
would be able to contribute a lot to a forum like this.  Equally, I’m no
hack, though I will admit to a cob from time to time as circumstances may
dictate.

This thread started out the wrong way for all of the wrong reasons and
hasn’t served much purpose – I’d wager that’s not why either of us are here.
I don’t mind an occasional good argument, but hell this thread has degraded
past any hope of being a good argument.

If you DAGS on my activities here you’ll find that I try to live by a
philosophy of simply sharing information to the benefit of all.  Some
opinions here and there, but I’m a guy and I’m not surrendering my right to
an opinion.  What the hell does a guy have left after that?  I deal a lot in
fact – things like Fords suck and both the US Government and Daimler should
be severely penalized for not allowing Chrysler to simply die.  I’m not
above making a mistake and generally not above taking a correction.  Pretty
much the same as most folks who hang out in places like this.

That’s the extent of my challenge.  Seems to me that the past is a good
place for what’s gone on to this point and there should be no reason not to
be able to move on past it.  Life’s too short for *too much* bitchin’.

It appears that Toyota is killing GM and  Ford.  The fucking Japs are
winning the war, and it’s time we stop them.  I suggest we drop a
massive bomb on every Toyota plant and dealership in the USA, and in
other countries, and destroy them all.  Also, if you see a Toyota
vehicle on the highway, take your Ford or Chevy and ram the Toy into a
pile of rubble.  The Ford or Chevy will survive and the Toy will be
nothing but a ball of fire on the side of the highway, killing the
anti-American traitor that bought that Toy using American money.  It
serves that driver right for being a traitor to America.  Lets destroy

It’s a 1990  Oldsmobile Silhouette APV with the 3.1 engine…..   112,000 miles

I’d like to replace the distributor housing ‘O’ ring as it seems to be leaking
oil.   The distributor shaft turns from side to side,  but I can’t get it to pull
up out of the engine and am reluctant to place a lot of upward pressure
on it.    Are there any hints or tips on freeing it up.

(yes, I have removed the bolt and hold down clamp.).

Also,  has anyone replaced the half shaft???  How difficult a job is it ???
Any special tools necessary…..   a saturday morning job or should I plan
a few coffee breaks into it ???

my serpentine belt broke, so it was replaced.  after that, i was driving away,
and my temp gauge was bouncing around all over.  it was normal, then went up
to just over 210, then back to norm, then back up again.  does this very
quickly.  what could be the problem?

Can anyone in here tell me if the bolt for a 1998 Buick Lesabre belt
tensioner pulley is left or right handed thread?

It is a 3.8L V6
